You really gotta do better research. Your biggest problem (one of many) is that the Emperium is a closer to a authoritarian theocratic tributary state. Your tithes are all that really matter to it and otherwise they let worlds govern themselves as they see fit. Their are democracies, dictatorships, republics, and just about ever other way of governing bodies you can think of in the Empire of Man. BUT they all must pay their tithe to the Emperium.

Compounding this is that all worship is varied on the Empror of Man. Some people worship the sun as him, some worship other slight symbols of him, or have different ways of praying to him. Even the space Marines vary in this endeavor.

40k also points out the evils of any thinking which is its brilliance. 40k is a reflection of any belief taken to its extreme and any idea taken to its Utopian purity (even yours). The reason you dumb it down is so you can better understand it your own primitive agenda.

As far as your D and D reference of typical stories about good and evil. You clearly never heard of “Raistlin” and how his story ended in the “Twins”. Raistlin is a VERY complicated bad/good guy throughout which was Dragonlance trilogy that was based off of the world of D and D.

If you cannot see the irony of your own story in this reflection. Then you really have not thought enough about this. Inquisitor.
