JEE Main 2022 Updates: Students Demand 4 Attempts, Relaxation in 75% Board Exam Criteria

Students preparing for JEE Main 2022 have taken to social media to demand the scrapping of the 75 % board exam criteria for the exam and give them 4 chances to attempt it just like 2021 since many of them could not prepare properly due to the pandemic situation.

JEE Main 2022 Live Update: Some of the engineering aspirants, on Thursday, took to Twitter and demanded right away to have 4 sessions of the engineering entrance, just as they did last year. The Ministry of Education is set to announce the JEE Main 2022 notification soon. They also wanted board examinations to be relaxed. As per the guidelines, aspirants must score at least 75 per cent in their board exams. The NTA (National Testing Agency) is likely to announce the official notification anytime in January on its official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the criteria of minimum 75 per cent marks in the 12th grade for admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs have been canceled for the years 2020 and 2021.

There is a strong demand from students that this criterion should continue into the year 2022 due to the hardship students are facing in their studies and exam preparation due to the closure of schools and coaching centers.

Board Percentage Needed:

Students were required to score a minimum of 75% in their class 12 boards or equivalent exams until the 75% criteria were removed. To apply for the exam, you no longer need a certain board percentage. However, the requirement of 75% in the 10+2 exam remains the same for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main 2022 Age Criteria:

There are no age restrictions for JEE Main 2022. Candidates are advised to verify age restrictions (if any) at the institutes where they plan to apply.
