Andras & Oscar-Cafe Romantica on Dopeness Galore

Melbourne in effect mode! Hot damn-nnn this record seriously has it! Please do yourself a favor and listen to this debut mini-album from Andras Fox (Andrew Wilson) and Oscar Key Sung (Oscar Vicente Slorach-Thron); it is truly a breath of fresh air. Andras’ lo-fi productions orbit around dance-y drum machine rhythms (reminiscent of early 90’s house) and warm synthesized chords. Meanwhile, Oscar Key Sung’s mellifluous vocals and playboy lyrics float tenderly like a feather over Fox’s lava flow of music. Andras and Oscar perfectly compliment each other as a one-two punch of playful productions and romantic vocals; their tracks have an effortlessly laid-back vibe to them. The standout cuts include: Everytime I Go, Make It Better, French Twist and Rules of Love. However, the entire album knocks from front to back and is a real joy to consume; jams perfect for a Sunday afternoon drive down the coast with your baby. Café Romantica bursts from the seams with a sweet sense of carefree optimism and youthful lovey-dovey days.

Be on the lookout for Andras and Oscar; these kids are on the definite come up and bound to blowup any day now. Brooklyn powerhouse — Mexican Summer, recently released Andras’ Vibrate On Silent twelve inch, the duo also made a cameo on Boiler Room and there are more projects rumored to be around the corner. If you like dreamy Down Under R&B vibes, this album will perfectly compliment your summertime dance parties and barbecues. Who doesn’t love some on-point pop-y dance music with a pinch of raw DIY fuzz and reverb sprinkled on top? Don’t we all need a burst of pure Australian sunshine in our lives? This album does exactly that; it leaves you happy and in a relaxed Mai Tai mode.
