Microsoft SwiftKey has been a valuable tool for users that enjoy voice-typing, built-in search, and task management syncing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I accidentally downloaded a bare-bones keyboard app for Excel on Android that looked similar to SwiftKey. The app had no options, but I used it for a few weeks before realizing that it was the wrong app.

Microsoft launched SwiftKey in 2010 and has since heavily updated it with a modernized feature set. Originally, it was launched for Windows Phone but has since been transferred to Android and iOS. You may not have heard of it until now because third-party keyboards are not widely used in the real world. SwiftKey’s features include clipboard cloud connectivity, personalized themes, and multi-language support.

Swiftkey now includes Bing Chat, a service which includes generative AI support. Bing Chat has been a major focus in the tech world since it was launched on February 7, 2023. Microsoft has been reconsidered as a viable option for many services now that people can appreciate its recent innovative efforts.
