IngramSpark paper: standard vs premium color compared

I’ve recently received proof copies of my book, Leaves and Circles, and am presently evaluating which option to choose now that I can view the end products side by side. (Ingram recently made premium color available via POD.) The differences are definitely noticeable. For photos printed on standard paper, the printed dots are quite evident; on premium, they look very smooth. Color reproduction is also significantly better on premium.

The only downside, as you might expect, is a significant base cost increase. If not for that, I’d have already made my decision to use premium color, as there’s no contest as far as which one is better. You can see the results here:
