Haha, this is funny, because it’s very common. 😅
I also built an app with little experience, but with a different (much cheaper/easier) approach.
1.) Design is always the cheapest and easiest way to hash out an idea quickly. Use Sketch and InVision to quickly prototype an idea. If you want to add rudimentary animations, use Flinto , which I found to be super easy to use.
2.) Design through several cycles of iterative thunking so that every detail has been thought out. Design, redesign, and redesign again until it’s exactly how you want it to look.
3.) If you’re not a coder, hire a cheap software engineer freelancer (I’m talking between $1,000-$5,000 (no more!), and hire them on contract (not hourly!). Make sure the app is 100% super simple and has only then core features, so it should be super easy to engineer. Remember, the best apps do only one thing really really well, so cut the feature creep!
That’s it! It’s actually not that hard! And when you engineer the app, try to do some coding on the side and ask good questions so the next time around you feel comfortable enough to code the app yourself!
Enjoy! 😊
