I agree, mostly. Don’t know if it was “good” TV but it was very watchable. Really, the show is all about characters, with great actors. McCconnaughey and Harrelson were great, and it was focused on the two of them. Season 3 was Farrell (Great), McAdams (Good), Vaughn (hit or miss, but not that bad overall), and Tim Riggins (totally pointless). So there were some good pieces, but it was much more spread out than season 1, and it didn’t come all together. Imagine if the Riggins character was just not there at all and 25% more of the show went to Farrell and/or McAdams? That would be so much better, right?
