Killing It

The Democrats raised enough hell to get the Brett Kavanaugh’s hearing postponed until Sept 20. While the committee debated, there were cops everywhere and they wouldn’t let anybody near the room.

Senator Dianne Feinstein was given a scarlet letter about Kavanaugh at the eleventh hour which had damaging information in it. She turned it over to the FBI. It’s about sexual misconduct when he was in high school. He attended the prestigious academy for rich white kids, Georgetown Preparatory School in Bethesda, Maryland (tuition is $60,000 a year.) Teenagers having sex? So. It was the 80s. Everybody was having sex. But if you’re a Republican kid with pedigree, going to an uppity school with other kids like Neil Gorsuch and you get busted for having sex with some floozy, your parents and the school could make that go away. But what if it was a good girl with the same pedigree and she got pregnant? What if he took her across state lines for an abortion? Two high schoolers having sex 35 years ago isn’t a story. An abortion in the past of an anti-abortion Republican operative headed for the Supreme Court is.

Paul Manafort has reached a tentative plea deal with Mueller.

The MAGA burn your shoes boycott is working! Nike stock closed at $83.47 — an all-time high for the company.

MAGAs are pissed at Willie Nelson for playing for Beto. Like the flag and God, MAGAs think Country music belongs to them. Boycott Willie, then, MAGAs. Break your records and CDs that you already paid for.

Nikki Haley has a 6,000 square foot penthouse apartment on First Avenue in New York, a couple of blocks from work. The rent is $58,000 a month. It’s her second home. We pay for it. She got new curtains that cost almost as much as one month’s rent. We paid for those too. This is what government housing looks like for the rich and powerful.

When asked about the president denying that 3,000 people died under his watch, Paul Ryan said, “ There is no reason to dispute these numbers. This is a devastating storm that hit an isolated island. And that’s really no one’s fault. It’s just what happened.” In other words, God did it. And if God did it, it must mean they deserved it.

Denying thousands of deaths under your watch is what happens in totalitarian states.

“Marco Rubio says ‘both sides’ need to calm down about Puerto Rico. Would that be the side with 3,000 dead Americans, or the side with Trump saying they aren’t dead?” Max Burns

Republican hypocrite fun fact: Paul Ryan said, “I worry that we are seeing a deinstitutionalization of society writ large occurring in not just America but in the world. And, by the way, this isn’t one person who’s done this. It’s society, it’s culture, it’s the internet. It’s the 21st century.” Paul says he plans on spending his retirement having deep thoughts about inclusive, aspirational politics. Nobody wants him to do that.

“In all fairness to Trump” — Susan Sarandon

Michael Avenatti went on Fox News and smacked Tucker Carlson down on his shit show. Tucker called him a “creepy porn lawyer.” Avenatti quipped back, “Why don’t you call Trump the creepy porn president?”

Not one single Republican running for office has pledged to hold Trump accountable for anything, or check his power in any way.

24 years ago President Clinton signed the Assault Weapons Ban into law. Over the next 10 years there were 37% fewer gun massacres and 43% fewer gun massacre deaths. But in the 10 years after the ban expired in 2004, gun massacre deaths rose by 239%.

Vote Democrat in November and fewer people will get killed.
