What’s Happening?

It’s the final day of confirmation hearings for Brett Kavanaugh and this shouldn’t be happening.
Senator Cory Booker had an I am Spartacus moment when he told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he was releasing a Kavanaugh email about racial profiling, acknowledging that he knew it could mean expulsion from the senate. “Bring it!” he said. Americans were glad that happened.
Booker also let it be known that Kavanaugh’s name was not on Trump’s list of potential SCOTUS nominees until after the Mueller probe began. Kavanaugh says he won’t recuse himself if an issue related to the Mueller probe reached the SCOTUS. Republicans are trying to shove Kavanaugh through with an approval rating of 38%. None of this should be happening.
Senator Kamala Harris to Kavanaugh: “Can you think of any laws that give the government the power to make decisions about the male body?” Kavanaugh to self: “Oh shit, this shouldn’t be happening.”
Raise your hand if you think the government should make laws restricting what men can do with their wieners. Who wants to see that happen?
Kavanaugh refers to birth control as “abortion inducing drugs.” What does he know about birth control, menstruation, or pregnancy? Has Kavanaugh ever gone to the store to buy tampons for his wife? Has he ever been in that aisle? Has that ever happened? Raise your hand if you think it’s anybody’s business if he waited until he was married before ever having sex. Has he ever had sex with anyone other than his wife? Do they use birth control or have they only had sex twice? Has the government ever nosed around in his sex life? He’s not worried. He knows that that won’t ever happen if he’s confirmed to the Supreme Court. Only women’s sex lives can be legislated.
Kavanaugh brought his wife, daughters, and a girls’ basketball team to show everybody that he likes girls.
Does Kavanaugh know anyone who has had an abortion? Yes — because we all do. It happens.
Kamala Harris asked Kavanaugh whether he believes President Trump was correct when he said that “both sides” were to blame for Charlottesville. He refused to answer. It’s like it never happened.
Senator Mazie Hirono called Kavanaugh out for his blatant ignorance and racism toward native Hawaiians while setting up the 8 ball for Lisa Murkowski if she doesn’t do right by her native constituents by voting no on Kavanaugh. If you vote for that guy, Lisa, you know what will happen…..
When Kavanaugh was a White House lawyer in the Bush administration, he challenged the accuracy of deeming the Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v. Wade abortion rights decision to be “settled law of the land.” We’re looking at back alley, coat hanger abortions again. Making abortions illegal won’t make them not happen. They have always happened and they always will.
Over 200 people so far have gotten arrested during the Kavanaugh hearings. One woman yelled, “I’m going to die without health care!” This annoyed Orrin Hatch. He said, “Get that woman out of here. We don’t need to put up with that!” Orrin Hatch doesn’t think dissent should happen.
Everybody is freaking out about the anonymous op-ed in the New York Times. Trump has totally flipped his lid and is determined to find out who did it. Rand Paul suggested that people take lie detector tests and sign affidavits that can be used in court. He’s narrowed his list down to 12 people.
The stress showed at Trump’s MAGA rally last night in Billings, Montana. He couldn’t pronounce “anonymous” correctly. He told the crowd that if he’s impeached it’s their fault.
A listing on Craigslist offered $18 an hour to attend the rally. A local talent agency paid $390 for the day PLUS a free hat and shirt. The “supporters” behind him looked bored, as if they were asking themselves, “Is this really happening?” One guy couldn’t contain his disbelief. It showed all over his face and he had to be replaced with a better actor. Another “supporter” standing behind Trump wiped her nose with the US flag.
Trump attacked the media again and praised Montana congressman Greg Gianforte for fighting for his state because he body slammed a journalist during his campaign last year. “I’ll tell you what……this man has fought….. in more ways than one……for your state. He has fought for your state,” Trump said. “Greg Gianforte. He is a fighter and a winner.”
This shouldn’t be happening.
