PR: UpChannel Adding CanYa’s Blockchain-Powered Freelancer Platform to dApp Marketplace
Peer-to-peer freelance services platform will enable new business transactions, emboldens skill-based meritocracy, and increases the earning potential of people in emerging markets
Park City, UT, June 5, 2018 — With access to 44 million smartphones in more than 100 countries, UpChannel is adding CanYa (CAN), a blockchain-powered marketplace of peer-to-peer services, to its dApp Marketplace which will be powered by their Spire (SPI) token.
CanYa’s platform provides business tools that simplifies freelance services. By using a combination of invoice, blockchain logistics, fundraising, and project management solutions, CanYa removes the necessity of third party providers to facilitate escrow payments and arbitrage for work completed.
“By safely connecting freelancers with clients, UpChannel and CanYa can unlock new earning opportunities for people in emerging markets,” explains Charlie Hulcher, CTO and Co-Founder of UpChannel. “CanYa’s suite of services will help incentivize them to participate in the global gig economy, with some tasks capable of even being done on their smartphone.”
Through CanYa, freelancers are paid in cryptocurrency for their services. This lowers the burden of currency conversion fees when both parties operate in different nations, promoting a skill-based meritocracy without borders.
“We love the work UpChannel is doing and we are very excited to be facilitating easier access to the gig economy, especially to those in the emerging world,” says JP Thor, CEO of CanYa.
Spire is a cryptocurrency that powers UpChannel’s digital currency wallets and a curated dApp (decentralized application) Marketplace for the 3 billion people in emerging markets who leapfrogged PCs, going directly to smartphones. Telecom partners preinstall free, white-labeled software on the Android smartphones they sell, creating a broad and cost-effective distribution strategy. The wallet will initially support Spire’s own token (SPI), along with Bitcoin.
UpChannel is the creator of UpChannel Connect, the free, white-labeled CRM platform for telecom carriers and smartphone manufacturers in emerging markets. UpChannel Connect provides in-depth analytics and reporting data that these telecoms have never had access to. This includes demographics, geographic usage, carrier information, and much more. UpChannel currently has access to 44 million smartphones in 105 countries.
CanYa is a decentralised marketplace that helps everyday people outsource local and digital services. Through CanYaCoin we are helping mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency by bridging the gap between the cryptocommunity and skilled service providers.
