Break Free From Old Habits And Thrive
Change your life.
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)
You may find yourself trapped in old habits.
These habits can hinder your growth and prevent you from thriving with God. They can weigh you down, leaving you feeling stuck and disconnected. But, through Christ, we have the power to break free from these patterns.
Acknowledge the presence of these old habits in your life.
Be honest with yourself. Be honest with God. Tell Him what areas you’re struggling with.
When we’re vulnerable and surrender to God, He can work in us.
Some habits we can’t overcome on our own. We have to rely on His strength. Knowing that He is faithful to work in us and through us.
Prioritize renewing your mind.
Renew your mind with God’s truth. Immerse yourself in His Word. His Word replaces the lies and negative thought patterns that fuel our old habits.
It’s important to seek accountability and support.
Find a church that does small groups and join one. These small groups can provide encouragement, prayer, and accountability. Share your struggles and they can offer guidance and support.
You have to be intentional.
Breaking free from old habits involves intentionally replacing them with new healthy habits. You want to add habits that promote spiritual growth. Habits such as prayer, reading the Word, and serving others.
Trust in God’s grace.
Breaking free from old habits is a journey. It’s a journey that requires patience and perseverance. When you stumble or face setbacks, turn to Him in repentance, receive His forgiveness, and continue pressing forward.
We are new creations in Christ.
