I was wondering about the use of professor too. In Japan they are very particular about ranks sometimes. Then again, they should use what I ask them too.

I also added for my nonnative English speaking students that they shouldn’t try to show off how fluent they are by using “gonna,” hafta,” and “wanna.”

Last, I told them I might not reply within 24 hours and suggested that they allow time for a response and especially if they are asking for an action from me that they give me time to do it right. I can’t write a letter of recommendation in an hour.

BTW, I’m using this in class now as I type this.
