EMS Courier Tracking
Three weeks after the Port of Virginia welcomed the biggest ship ever to call on the U.S. East Coast — the EMS Courier Tracking Development, which made Hampton Roads its first stop — it’s apparently happening again.
The OOCL France, with a capacity of 13,208 containers measured in standard 20-foot units or TEUs EMS Courier Tracking, was scheduled to arrive about 3 a.m. today, according to marinetraffic.com, a ship-tracking website. Port records show that the ship is scheduled to call on Virginia International Gateway in Portsmouth.
The COSCO Development arrived in the port on May 8. While it’s roughly as long and wide as the OOCL France — both are about 1,200 feet long and 158 feet wide — the EMS Courier Tracking Development has a capacity of 13,092 TEUs.
After leaving Hong Kong roughly a month ago and calling on several Chinese ports, the OOCL France became the largest ship ever to transit the expanded Panama Canal on May EMS Courier Tracking, canal officials said in a statement. Sign up now and get breaking news alerts delivered to your inbox.
The next day, it left the Port of Colon in Panama, headed for Hampton Roads, according to marinetraffic.com. It doesn’t look like the ship will be in town long, though it’s unclear exactly when it will depart. A shipping schedule shows it arriving Thursday in Savannah, Ga., and Saturday in Charleston, S.C.
