Electricity is the greatest invention in history because it opened people up to a whole new world. Without power, the world would never be able to innovate. Also as time goes on people continue to expand this invention and innovate it. Most inventions would have never happened without electricity. Since it was invented, most inventions were based off it and it was used to help create the invention. It adds light to the world and is part of the solution to most modern problems. Also without electricity, it would be impossible to communicate with the rest of the world and the world as we know it would not be as advanced. Without electricity, transportation would still be by foot or horse and cars or airplanes would not be in the picture. Electricity to this day is the most important invention because it serves as the baseline for all inventions to come.

Today in class, we were given a design challenge with a prompt and a random back of items. We needed to build a safe place for a light source; the items given were paper clips, paper, and fuzzy, thin wires. Considering all of our items were flammable, it was impossible to create a truly safe place for the fire. Even if we had more time, I am not sure our group would have created something much better considering the given the resources. At first our group was slightly confused about the prompt, but as time went on we figured it out and worked together well. This project portrayed another way electricity is so valuable because if we had a light bulb or an electric light source, we could have built a lamp that would have not gone up in flames like our design would have. I think that the project proves the importance of electricity and shows how difficult and different life was before it. Although it is an invention that is easily taken for granted, it is to this day the most important invention so far.
