Are you a young individual striving for personal growth and eager to achieve the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (D of E) Gold level? Look no further than Tom Flowers Cricket Coaching (TFCC). We’re thrilled to announce that TFCC is now an accredited DofE Approved Activity Provider (AAP), offering an innovative approach to D of E Gold residential experiences that combine cricket and personal development.

Understanding D of E: A Journey of Self-Improvement

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, founded by Prince Philip in 1956, has evolved into a globally recognized youth awards program operating in 144 countries. It aims to acknowledge the achievements of young people as they engage in a series of self-improvement activities inspired by Kurt Hahn’s philosophy, addressing the “Six Declines of Modern Youth.” This program is a transformative journey of personal growth and development.

The Three Levels of D of E: Bronze, Silver, and Gold

D of E offers three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold, each symbolizing a significant milestone in the pursuit of the prestigious award. Participants must complete these levels before their twenty-fifth birthday, and the journey typically spans one to four years.

Key Focus Areas: Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and Residential

Participants, guided by adult leaders, are empowered to set and achieve objectives in four key areas:

  1. Volunteering: Contributing to the community or individuals in meaningful ways.
  2. Physical: Enhancing skills and performance in sports, dance, or fitness activities.
  3. Skills: Cultivating practical, social, and personal interests.
  4. Residential (Gold Level): Engaging in a unique shared activity away from home.

TFCC’s Contribution to Your D of E Journey

TFCC’s D of E License is a significant milestone, aligning sports development with personal growth. Our inclusive program welcomes all, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), who share a passion for sport.

At TFCC, we are equipped to support participants in four critical D of E sections:

  1. Volunteer: TFCC fosters a culture of giving back to the community.
  2. Physical: Enhance your sports and fitness skills under our guidance.
  3. Skills: Develop practical, social, and personal interests to thrive in life.
  4. Residential: Experience a unique shared activity away from home, a key to achieving Gold.
