MLB cancels Strasburg retirement press conference; remaining salary payment issues

Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Stephen Strasburg (35, Washington Nationals) retirement press conference has been canceled due to a dispute over the payment of his remaining salary.
According to USA Today and The Washington Times on Monday, 스포츠토토 Strasburg had initially planned to hold a press conference at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 10 to formalize his retirement.
The news of Strasburg’s retirement after this season was first reported by local media last month.
However, ahead of the press conference, the Nats reportedly demanded to renegotiate Strasburg’s remaining three years and $1.05 million in salary.
