Son Heung-min to score first goal of season against promoted Burnley this weekend

League Cup exit a disappointment, but a rebound
South Korean soccer sensation Son Heung-min (Tottenham) 스포츠토토 is back in the hunt for the coveted goal this season.
Son Heung-min’s Tottenham Hotspur will host promoted Burnley in the fourth round of the 2023–2024 English Premier League (EPL) next month at Turf Moor in Burnley, England, at 11 p.m. ET.
After drawing 2–2 with Brentford in their opening game, Tottenham have gotten off to a flying start, defeating Manchester United (2–0) and Bournemouth (2–0).
The loss of star striker Harry Kane to Bayern Munich (Germany) has left them with a major power leak, but their attacking game has been working well under new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
Of course, they recently suffered a shock defeat to Fulham on penalties in the second round of the Carabao Cup (League Cup), so they’ll be desperate to bounce back against Burnley.
There will also be a lot of interest in the performance of captain Son Heung-min, who has yet to register an attacking point this season.
Since the departure of his best friend Kane, Son Heung-min has been playing more selflessly, looking for opportunities for his teammates rather than aggressively attacking.
Depending on the tactics, he can move between the center and the flanks and play multiple roles. He’s been used in a rotation in the front line, a position that has been weighed down by Kane’s departure.
If Son Heung-min scores against Burnley, 토토 it will be his 104th goal in the EPL. He will surpass Cristiano Ronaldo’s (Alnasr) 103 career goals in the EPL.
Burnley is an opponent that Son has fond memories of. In December 2019, during the 2019–20 season, Heung-min scored a goal against Burnley after a 70-meter solo dribble that earned him the Pushkas Award that year.
Burnley were relegated from the EPL in the 2021–2022 season before being promoted again. They are in the bottom half of the table with two losses in their opening two games. They have scored one goal and conceded six.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham, who have gained momentum with their two early wins, can extend their winning streak to three league games.
After the Burnley game, Son will join the squad for the two European away A matches (Wales and Saudi Arabia) in September.
