The field must be at least 100 meters long, about 70 meters wide, and at least 10 meters of dead ball area. The H-shaped valley should be 6 meters wide without limitation in height. The field consists of marks on the half way line, 5 m line, 22 m line, 10 m line, and dead ball line. It also includes a central point where you can restart the game after a try, penalty or drop goal is scored.
There must be one referee and two touch referees in the competition. It is the job of the referee to be punctual throughout the game, to make decisions, and to keep order on the pitch. Two touch referees can help the referee decide and inform the referee when the players come into contact.
The game is stopped when a player is fouled, the ball is out, or a try or drop goal is scored.
The defending team must take the hold and drag it to the floor to tackle the player. The tackle cannot be more than shoulder-high, which will result in the referee declaring a foul. Line-out is called when the ball is touched. A maximum of seven players can enter the line-out, and any of these players can be lifted to catch the ball being thrown. Both teams can compete for the ball.
A successful conversion, penalty or kick in a goal occurs only when the player kicks the ball through the top of the goal. If the player fails, the ball continues to play until it passes through one of the field boundaries.
