India squad for the 2023 Asia Cup
From Indian cricket team has named a strong 17-member, India Squad Asia Cup 2023, with both KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer making a return after recovering from injuries.
The squad is as follows:

- Mohammed Shami
- Shardul Thakur
- Mohammed Siraj
- Prasidh Krishna
- Avesh Khan
- Deepak Chahar
Rahul and Iyer were both injured during the South Africa ODI series in January 2023. Rahul suffered a groin injury, while Iyer had a hamstring injury. They have both been recovering at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and are now fit to play.
The Asia Cup will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17. It will be a good opportunity for Rahul and Iyer to get some match practice ahead of the ODI World Cup, which will be held in India later this year.
The other notable inclusions in the squad are Prasidh Krishna and Avesh Khan. Krishna has been in good form in the recent T20I series against Ireland and England, while Avesh has been impressive in the IPL.
The squad is a good mix of experience and youth, and India will be looking to use it to their advantage in the Asia Cup.
