Toms River’s Grunin Center Presents Aaron Neville Live in Concert this Friday

(TOMS RIVER, NJ ) — This Friday, March 18,2016, the Jay and Linda Grunin Center of the Arts at Ocean County College will present R&B legend Aaron Neville Live in Concert. The performance is at 8pm. Tickets range from $30 to $35.

Neville, the New-Orleans-based tenor blessed with one of the most distinctive voices in American music and a member of the Neville Brothers, has earned four Platinum albums and four Top 10 US hits.

Neville’s debut single, “Tell It Like It Is,” was a Top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1966. He also made the Top 10 again in 1991 with his cover version of “Everybody Plays the Fool.”

To some, however, Neville is best-known for his 1989 Grammy Award-winning pop vocal collaborations with singer Linda Ronstadt. These songs include “All My Life” and “Don’t Know Much,” a recording which today Neville describes as “the next best thing to being in heaven.”

Neville’s latest recording is 2013’s My True Story, a collection of classic doo-wop tunes produced by Don Was and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, who also plays guitar. Tunes on this new album include “Tears on My Pillow,” “Little Bitty Pretty One,” “Under the Boardwalk,” “This Magic Moment,” and “Be My Baby.”

At the Grunin Center, where Neville will share the stage with pianist Michael Goods, he’ll perform songs from “Tell It Like It Is” to selections from My True Story, with many more in between. Says Neville about this event, “Come out and enjoy the show. Take a musical journey — MY musical journey” — it’s one you’ll “never forget.”
