It seems that the latest sources are claiming that the tech giant’s next rendition of the iPhone may be accompanied by a price tag that beats out any of its predecessors. With a starting cost of a minimum of $1,000, the cost for a new iPhone is more than enough to put a decent dent in anyone’s bank account. Additionally, for anyone who wants additional storage options, a fully loaded iPhone 8 may reach prices as high as $1,200.
Though the source of this rumor may not be the most reliable, this is not the first time the public has been made aware of the fact that the iPhone 8 may cost over $1,000. John Gruber, an insider at Apple speculated that the new smartphone would see a release with a similar price back in July of this year. Additionally, the New York Times reported a debut price of close to $1,000 after a report with an anonymous source. Even so, many are still skeptical that Apple would demand such a high price for their next smartphone considering the competition on the market.
With Samsung’s latest device sitting at $930 unlocked, it seems unwise to set a price point for their device any higher. Apple has always had a strong base of loyal customers, however, with the quality of technology available in the current smartphone space, a single slip-up in marketing may cost the company millions.
