Hi there! SPROUND is a collaborative office and community sparked by like-minded people within DNX Ventures (DNX) and Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate (NSKRE) who are passionate about inventing the new normal of seed-stage startup incubation.
It’s important to us that you understand this: SPROUND is not a “WeWork for seed stage startups.” We aren’t your run-of-the-mill office space. Rather, SPROUND is a community of enterprising companies and individuals dedicated to learning through sharing. Our membership extends to ex-entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals who are uniformly committed to passing on their expertise to the next generation of entrepreneurs.
We wanted to design a new startup ecosystem that revolves around one key concept: the idea that the “Circulation of Knowledge” — tech startup CEOs, SPROUND alumni, and SPROUND members alike, all contributing their know-how for the sake of mutual growth — will lead to a lasting, altruistic tradition of best practice sharing.
Today, on September 28th, we open our doors to the Tokyo startup sphere. We offer 14,000 square feet of flexible office space situated on the 22nd floor of Shinagawa Intercity, a prime location adjacent to Shinagawa station overlooking the bay area. It’s an ideal place for our startups to convene, talk shop, and get things done. There’s also a 60-person event venue where workshops and fireside chats are a daily occurrence.

SPROUND is a community of individuals that aspire to grow together, and we’re here to help make that happen. We’ll be hosting meetups by startup CEOs, venture capitalists, and industry professionals both on-site and online. Our aim is to kickstart a free-flow of knowledge so that our startups can gain access to a treasure trove of information on topics relevant to accelerating business growth.
2) DNX Ventures is your next-door neighbor
SPROUND is home to DNX Ventures, a US-Japan cross-border venture capital firm with 10 years of investment experience in early stage, B2B startups. As a member of the SPROUND community, DNX is dedicated to sharing industry expertise and experience with SPROUND members.

Seed stage startups experience the same growing pains, and we know that help comes best from people with first hand experience. SPROUND is a place where startups can share and gain insights on everything from business frameworks, latest trends, and best practices, to the nitty-gritty of running a new business. We screen our community members so as to make sure every participant has something to gain from, and contribute to, the collective.
