I totally disagree with you Bill, people like that cause disrupted marriages, bankruptcy or homelessness. Yes driveness is key and if you are a high achiever you will most likely land in a great place if you keep working hard. However you are underestimating the benefits of lingering around and learning and still making money. Many people quit cause they can’t take it and then have children to raise they would be absolutely stupid to leave their job unless they will find something else lined up. If I was a home staying wife and my husband was the main provider I would truly divorce him and take the kids with me if he just left his job that feeds us (just because it did not work). You are boasting about quitting and leaving without mentioning the fact that it is not always possible unless you got something else lined up. Money does not grow on trees Bill people need to survive, lets not take it for granted that there are some people who would die to have a job and just have a hard time getting hired. Not everyone has the LUXURY, of having the career they love. True peace and happiness is the ability of finding harmony and contentment among misery and chaos. When I have kids I will teach them to work hard and learn as much as they can from their job, to also strive to learn what they want to do one day as their ideal career, and to only quit when they know they can still provide for themselves or their family. If I had the F* off attitude I wouldn’t have the job I have today, and God knows the shit I had to go through.
