I believe one of the biggest flaws of today’s tools is their failure to allow designers to easily work with real data. Because of this, designers often fill their mocks with idealized information that is anything but representative
Modern Design Tools: Using Real Data
Josh Puckett

Josh, perhaps that is how you design. Any good designer (and I count myself to those) will not only work with idealization but instead think about extreme cases. Want to know if the headline will break the layout once localized in German? Append the word Schnitzel to every word. Want to know if the displayed table will work with 100k of rows, mock it up and talk with your developer. The problem isn’t so much the design tools but the lack of initiative, the ability to communicate with technical people and working I interdisciplinary teams. Have you thought about those aspects?
