It’s true there are very few resources for the Search-to-Build transition, especially for companies undergoing hypergrowth. While it’s certainly not complete, Reid Hoffman put together a podcast and a series of companion articles called “Masters of Scale” which interviews several Silicon Valley businesspeople who have helped their companies navigate these waters. I especially found Sheryl Sandberg’s stories about scaling the spirit behind the search stage’s chaotic practices useful, given the topic.

The season includes little of the nuts-and-bolts issues such as sales strategy and comp, but at least it’s something! Maybe Reid can include more of those stories in Season 2, or a post on his favorite resources that didn’t make the show.

Either way, it’s great more people are thinking about this problem!
