SQUADTS

A while ago our team QAed our collection’s first set of 3D renders. Part of that QA is a visual inspection of each render to make sure the quality is where we want it. Here’s something we had caught and fixed that I think illustrates the level of quality we’re trying to achieve:

We discovered that the 50 Cal weapon was clipping into the GASSED specimen. This may seem like a minor issue that most folks probably wouldn’t notice but our team wants to be proud of the collection and doesn’t want to shill janky trash to anyone. Here’s what the corrected image looks like:

For our SQUADTS NFT Collection, we’ve done a lot of adjustments to our property weights as we refined things. Initially we had built this weights tool to help us determine what a nice feeling distribution of properties may be.

This tool was web-based and looked like this:

After a lot of trial and error we ended up hand weighting most of our properties but this tool was pretty fun to mess around with while we were trying to get all of that dialed in.

Here are some more AR experiment we’ve been working on. Disclaimer: this is super rough and WIP.

We’re trying to come up with some elements that are controlled by the user’s facial features. In this prototype the background changes whenever the user opens their mouth.
We’ve been playing around with hand tracking weapons. I’m not sure how well this will work with all of our collection’s weapons since a lot of them are quite large. Like how far do you have to get away from the camera in order to see that 50 Cal Rifle we have?

Also, you look like a crazy person when you’re walking around trying to film invisible people on your phone. :)

Our team QAed the SQUADTS Collection as much as possible to ensure that our properties appear as expected and everything looks amazing. One aspect of that is a visual inspection of our 3D renders. To help us do that we created a “quick view” layout — which overlays properties next to where they’re expected to be within our renders. This gives us a way to quickly scan an image for irregularities and makes QA a lot less of a pain.

Here are some examples of “quick views” we looked at during QA:
