parodies

Today my mother took down the Christmas tree in the attic and mentioned how it’s such a pain in the ass and I just casually mentioned maybe we shouldn’t even have a tree anymore and she said “but we need a tree!” and it got me thinking about tradition these days and how in these days what we currently see as modern times it’s all just one big parody of itself. Even when she asked me what I wanted for Christmas I thought for a second and a lot came to mind but I only said I wanted a Amazon card or some money because I prefer just a little help in getting things I want or need for myself personally if anyone is nice enough to give me anything at all for Christmas (I don’t have much money, tried to get everyone at least something small though to let them know I cared and wish I could do more). From holidays, to relationships, to entertainment, to food, to just about anything. It’s everywhere, just all these mocking remains of something now just there because there’s nothing more interesting or useful that serves as a replacement. I think many people these days that were younger that are now getting older and starting to take up more powerful positions in especially areas like marketing realize it and know you just wanna get to the point that’s the product you want to indulge in, in one way or another. But the traditional overlay is just becoming all across the board as a cushion to ease the blow of the reality of the situation at hand that would otherwise be too blunt and there hasn’t been anything better found that transcends it in any way. The traditional garbage that actually tries hard to cover up something simple is usually now just being marketed to an older generation that came from a time where the delusion was more fully embraced and they centered a lot around it, so when that fell apart the sort of went into shock and many started scrambling around picking up little random pieces of it and taping them together in random order and pretended it’s ok again even when they know somewhere deep inside that it never will be and that this was for the better.

I’m not all that sure where things could go next for tradition in society but all this parody and stereotype abuse is really starting to get me. It only comes across as increasingly annoying and somewhat offensive in nature. There has to be some way to spice things up and present them in an interesting way that’s sort of unique but retains a basic shine that lasts that doesn’t end up turning into this all over again but the point that it is the way it is now regarding the tradition situation these days can be taken as some sort of progress at the very least since it’s now realized how obnoxious and fake it all was. As things stand now there’s no possible way for that to happen, everyone is far too awake by default. Now we actually have to do what needs to be done and toss it into the trash where it all always belonged.
