The intensity was heightened in the summer of 2014. The deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner much like Alton Sterling and Philando Castile was a brutal awakening that exposed what was evidently an ongoing crisis.

Why are the deaths of all of these black men equated? Simply because they are all black? That is, in itself, racist.

Michael Brown very well may have attacked a police officer. Eric Garner and Alton Sterling were both committing crimes when approached by police officers and both resisted arrest. In Garner’s case, he was not an immediate threat to the officers and should not have been choked.

Philando Castile’s death is a legitimate tragedy and a murder. Did Yanez kill Castile because of race or incompetence? It’s hard to know for sure. I personally believe that Yanez is racist and that his racism contributed strongly to his terrible actions.

How do we appropriately describe the mentality of White police officers who have zero regard for the dignity of Black folks?

What about black officers who have zero regard for the dignity of white folks? What about the black officer Minneapolis, Mohamed Noor, who shot Justine Damond, a good Samaritan white woman who called to report an apparent sexual assault. If you want to make every police interaction about race, then lets examine both sides of the matter.

White men with badges — who deem it fit to shoot a man in his car while his girlfriend and her young daughter watch in horror.

If you are referring to Philando Castile, the officer who shot him was not white. That may not fit your agenda, but that is the truth.
