That’s a tough decision to make, but understandable. The damage to company culture from the behaviour of one individual can be irreparable. I would love to hear more about how you actually managed the firing process — it’s easy enough to dismiss someone without burning bridges, but sometimes (as I’ve found) it’s necessary to show to the rest of the team what you will and won’t tolerate.
