In pursuit of the real ‘me’…..
The trickle mark left by a tear drop on a rosy cheek,
I was an Eddy
Sending ripples far and wide
Ebbing back into my core unawares
I struggled to catch my breath again.
Lungs brimming with water, exhausted legs flailing in the waves, as I hang holding on to the parapet. I couldn’t swim another feet. No, that is an understatement. I couldn’t swim another second.
Love ever seemed so Greek to me
Grainy playground sand smelled of rain and dahlia
Memory still eluded the capitals of Ohio and California
School nights and warm milk steered us away from insomnia
