  1. Bharatanatyam :

Bharatanatyam is a dance of Tamil Nadu in southern India. performed in the temples of Tamil Nadu. before the Bharatnatyam is 2000 years old dance form. it locates in the Bharata Muni’s Natya Shastra. the three important features of Bharatnatyam are Nritta, Natya, and Nritya. the conducted by the dance men and women. the dance costumes are bright-colored, in the women wear sarees and the men wear dhotis. The dance movements are characterizing the bent legs and feet keeping rhythm. The Hands may use mudras, or symbolic hand gestures, to tell a story.

2.Kathakali :

Kathakali is a south Indian dance form of India, In around the state of Kerala. the Bharatanatyam and kathakali are religious dances. generally draws inspiration from Ramayana and stories from shiva traditions. kathakali is performed by boys and men, even in female roles. There are Theyyam, Thiruvathirakali, chakra koothu, koodiyattam & Ottamthullal are some of the prominent dances of Kerala. The popular dances are kathakali and mohiniyattam.The tourists from worldwide. kathakali is a drama, music, and religious theme. then also mohiniyattam performed by women. The costumes and makeup are especially elaborate, with faces. made to look like painted masks and enormous headdresses. These stories are derived from Hindu mythologies like Ramayana and Mahabharata.

3. Kathak :

Kathak dance originated in Uttar Pradesh (U.P) in North India. Katha means story and during the whole dance. The dancers narrate stories through their eyes and expressions. The dance depends on three sections called Invocation, Nritta, and Nritya. Kathak gives emphasis on poses, expressions, grace, hand, eye, body movements, and footwork. even if makes your body look younger, loses body weight, and brings a lot of excitement to life. Kathak performed rhythmic stories, foot movements, hand gestures, facial appearances, and eye work. performed by both men and women.

4. Kuchipudi :

Kuchipudi is a dance-drama performance. kuchipudi is the name of the village of kuchelapuram, in Andhra Pradesh India. A classical form will be written of dance, drama, and music. Kuchipudi enjoys a unique place, among the Indian classical idioms. The Kuchipudi developed as a dance form to worship Lord Krishna. along with invocations of goddesses. Kuchipudi is impressive, with quick footwork, dramatic characterization, expressive eye movements, and a spirited narrative. Even if Kuchipudi is a dance drama of Nritta, Nritya, and Natya. In the same way, becoming a solo presentation. Kuchipudi still has strong ties to the dance-drama tradition. It combines the elements of speech, mime, and pure dance.

5. Manipuri :

Manipuri dance is from Manipur in northeastern India. That state’s folk traditions, and rituals, then often depict scenes. the romantic relationship between the Hindu gods of Radha and Krishna is known as Raas Leela. The Manipuri dance is colorful decoration, lightness of dancing foot, lilting music, and poetic charm. dance is performed by the music created by the Indian classical instruments. 6. Odissi :

oddisi is a classical dance form of India. It originated in the Hindu temples of the eastern coastal state of Odisha in India. similarly, the dance of love touches on the human and the divine aspects of life. The Hindu temples and various archaeological associated with Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. in general sculptures dance postures with mythical, religious stories, devotional poetry, and spiritual ideas emoted. a dancer with excellent body movements, expressions, impressive gestures, and sign language. in general performance, the repertoire includes invocation,nrita,nritya, Natya, and moksha. 7. Sattriya :

Sattriya is a classical dance form in the northeastern state of Assam. while dance form used the Vaishnava sect of Hinduism. The drama is dedicated to the lives of Lord Krishna and Radha. That follows specific guidelines set forth in the “Natya Shastra.” The dance is Hand gestures (hasta mudras), footwork, music, and facial expressions. The different costumes then tell a story. The Musical compositions called Borges are also based on classical ragas. traditional drums, cymbals, flutes, then other instruments have been added.
