Usage Based Insurance App is a vehicle insurance calculator which will calculate the premium based on the usage and driving pattern. After brainstorming with few friends, i finally concluded with a brief idea and pattern to go with the work flow. The idea of my prototype is to make users effort less to renew their car insurance with a better work flow based on their usage and driving pattern. It helps to get them a best quote for their renewals easily. I expect this app helps them to save their time to find a proper plan and pay the premium.

To begin with the idea, i have created few storyboard and prototypes to define the work flow. Following are the few storyboard option planned initially and wifeframes are planned based on the second idea.

Wireframes are planned based on the second story. following are the few prototypes created.

After creating the prototypes, it is given for online testing and i have receives valuable feedback from the experts who reviewed it online.

While conducting in person testing, it became apparent that when the user interacted with the home screen actions that determined how the data are sorted while clicking on the actions. While the user did not express frustration, we realize this is a single view point of a user who easily navigated the page.

Insights & Revisions
One of the main point I have identified during my user reviews is its complexity. It helped me to see a need to simplify the application design making it a more dynamic workflow. The buttons down at the bottom of the screen are unnecessary and a Settings option is not needed to be accessible from every screen. Workflow with appropriate options available at the top of the screen rather than at the bottom is another issue.
Solutions to these issues include consolidating the buttons at the bottom of the screens into the main option buttons in the middle of the screen. Be more aware of the need of the people who want to renew their car insurance. Simplify duplicate actions in the option and buttons. Manipulate the workflow to be more current and upcoming focused, yet still allowing the user access to current insurance plans. Lastly consider adding notifications and/or alarms for the upcoming renewals.

Following are the few screens created for the final output.

AT the end i have created a working prototype and presented for online testing. The reviews i have received on the ides i have implemented was awesome.

Thanks
