The key here is getting happiness based on what we like, without losing the serendipity aspect. This is the underlying logic that all social networks use to keep us hooked. There are instances where we don’t like a song the first time we hear, but soon it becomes a favourite after hearing the third or fourth time. Guess this is where apps like iTunes, Play Music, Spotify etc comes good.
Net-net, I believe we all like to explore new items (music, places, people, relationships, ideas…), playing slightly beyond our current circle of comfort and at the same time not wishing to move too far away!
