Statistics galore after the India vs England Test at Lord’s

India made history after winning the second Test at Lord’s against England to take a 1–0 lead in the 5 match series. And all this came after exceptional performances from Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, Murali Vijay and Ravindra Jadeja. There were quite a few records broken and this win is definitely going down in history. Here are a few statistical highlights of the India vs England Lord’s Test:

  • James Anderson, with the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan in the first innings, became the highest-wicket taker in England. He went past Fred Trueman, who has 229 wickets in the country.
  • With the wicket of Virat Kohli in the first essay, Anderson became the highest wicket-taker at Lord’s, going past Ian Botham’s 69 scalps. With this wicket, Anderson also became England’s highest-wicket taker against India, going past Derek Underwood’s 62 scalps.
  • By dismissing MS Dhoni in the first innings, Stuart Broad picked up his 250th Test wicket, becoming the eight England bowler to do so.
