One Woman’s Journey: A Hip Replacement Saga

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Tomorrow is our 27th wedding anniversary. Somehow the marking of this anniversary will be like any other day . . . too many worries about other things including bills, our son, the house, stuff breaking down in the house, the hip and other assorted stuff.

Next week marks my two-month post hip replacement surgery. Woohoo. I still wake each morning stiff, but once I get moving, the stiffness and pain eases away. Our bodies, my body is still such a miracle of God’s design. I remain concern about the lingering pain in my other joints and in the new hip as well. I have formulated questions for the surgeon or his physician’s assistant for my visit next week.

I have noticed that I am really fatigued at the end of the work day. I don’t know whether that’s part of the recovery from major surgery or my age. I do know that it’s got to get better if I’m ever to find and keep a full-time job.

I will make this day a good day . . .
