One Woman’s Journey: The Hip Replacement Saga of This Woman

I will be estatic to return to work! I am so over new music/bands/singers on the various programs of the Today Show. I really do hate today’s pop music. Okay — Corey Feldman, an 80s TV star is doing a weird grim reaper meets Michael Jackson in hell act. Lord, lord. Let’s see what else is on before I move on to some studying I need to do. I found myself chuckling when I heard Taylor Swift’s song about never ever. . .ever. . .ever getting back together with you playing loudly at my local IHOP. Maybe I don’t hate today’s pop music as much as I claim.

I have several projects I really need to start and try to finish, but I can’t seem to get moving. I started a new book about the second half of life and the opportunities it presents to change the world.

PT was interesting today. I had a new therapist and she was really cool. So cool she was cooler than other therapist’s cool. I did better with the extended leg lifts today. I could only do six on Wednesday; today I did 10! Big deal, right! You’re dang-gone right it’s a big deal. I had trouble with that leg because of the osteoarthritis and with the hip replacement, it’s still worrisome. I am determined I’m going to conquer extended leg lifts. I must do this.

My pain level is better today than it was yesterday. For some unknown reason, I woke up with a sharp pain in my hip yesterday morning. I attribute it to a rough night of running, jumping and flipping in my sleep. Today, the pain is better and I didn’t take any medication before physical therapy. Is that a good sign? Sure hope so.

Winding up my third week post total hip replacement surgery. Wow! Next week, on September 22; it’ll be a whole month. I’m expecting great things next week!
