Valid points, but I do want to point out how analyzing raw data and player efficiency statistics can be misleading. Kobe himself didn’t develop into a great player until at least three years into his career, so it may not necessarily be fair or accurate to hold a player’s immediate (or lack of immediate) impact as a factor of comparison in his career. There are plenty of players who were highly efficient and may have had great numbers on paper at points in their career (Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo to name a few off the top of my head) but never “revolutionized” the game. I was mostly making the point in my article that Curry’s playing style will have a lasting impact on the game of basketball that hasn’t been seen before since Michael Jordan, who changed the emphasis of the game and the NBA from a big man’s league to a league that became centered on highly skilled guard’s.
