Our Twin Planet

PART I
The dome seemed to add much more heat to the room. Mr. De Vallace sweated. He had been in the room for days together but now he could not tolerate it. Their attempts weren’t working out. This added to the unfriendly atmosphere of the room.
There were people typing away, with their eyes glued to the screens, but of no avail. He sighed at the thought of it. It all seemed to be helpless. A huge drop of sweat rolled from his little hairs to his eyes. He wiped it, and finally said,
“Hey Victor, Um… Let me have a short break. What do you think?”
Victor, with his small eyes, big forehead, turned to Mr.De Vallace and said,
“Oh yeah? Bit off more than you can chew? Sure.”
Mr. De Vallace thanked him and walked out of the room, thinking of Victor…
“Victor… Victor… The Victor Guy…”
He took his cab and fled to his home.
PART II
He arrived at his house and called for his wife and kids.
“Honey, kids, daddy’s home!”
His two kids came running out of nowhere, and clasped him. “Daddy, daddy, see what we have built!” They said.
He replied, “Sure, sure, where’s Momma?”
“She’s in the kitchen!”
They took him to their room and showed him. It was a Virtual Building, created out of the “You Can Build — By Virtual Drawing !” Set. It was a little like a castle, a touch of cathedrals, and a big telescope shooting out of the roof.
“It’s awesome!”
“Thank you, daddy”
His wife came out, took his overcoat and hanged it.
“You look too tired. What happened? Pressure of work?” She asked.
“Yes, Our attempts aren’t working. Never thought humans were this dumb.”
“Really?”
“Why? Yes, even though they have radars all over the place, they aren’t receiving our signal.”
“It could also be a problem with your way of sending it…”
“No. It could never be.”
She sighed. He had never owns his mistakes. But he was also a self-dignified person.
De Vallace sat down for his lunch. But this was no time for it. The two suns had already set. After eating his lunch, he played with his kids. But no sooner he got a call from the office.
He sighed again while leaving.
“If only I could spend a little more time with the kids….”
PART III
Victor waved from outside the room. He put up an “What happened? Tired? ” Look.
De Vallace nodded his head.
“Any improvements?” asked Vallace.
“As always, trying. We’ve found that the signals land in Antarctica.. It seems as though they have no radars in the place.” said Victor
“Well, why don’t you try another place instead?”
“It’s not easy as you think it is. It may need a lot of time.”
“Then look into it.” Said Vallace.
“What about the Higher Officials?”
“That? That’s the thing I will look into.”
PART IV
Solar Day: 11OE3. 11:61.
The two suns are at same height.
De Vallace is in the Space Commando’s office; The books are stacked at full height from floor to ceiling. The curtains are open, letting in a plenty of light; But no sooner will it closed, making the room dull.
The table was filled with various things. But the thing you will notice by glancing over the table, is a name plate showing it’s owner’s name in bold letters.
Mr. Tangerine, Doctorate at physics and astronomy;
Space Commando In Charge.
