Lifecycle of a Researcher
A researcher’s perspective
Today was yet another day in my life till 6pm. At 6pm an ex-researcher walked into lab to narrate his experiences and how to enjoy the journey of research. I would like to share just one portion of his talk, “Lifecycle of a Researcher”, what we do wrongly and how to do it correctly.

Probably, no more words are required. This diagram nailed it. Start reading, read a lot, (flipkart, amazon, goodreads, are there for your rescue) be it related to your domain or anything, explore different subjects, reading gives you a whole new experience.
After reading, take time to appreciate what you have read, share it with others, think a lot about it (not only after reading, while reading also) and most importantly make notes of what you have read, dots will eventually connect that leads to something new.
Not only reading, thinking suffice, if you need to implement/practice do that. Trying to do enriches both the idea and your intellect.
Remember all these have loops, so go back to “Think” / “Read” and continue.
If you just “read & explore” you are a student, if you just “think & write” you are a philosopher, if you just “do & try” you are a machine. Only if you push yourselves to do all these things you end up being a researcher.
P.S: This post is not only for researchers, anyone can follow it. ☺
