Salman Khan will soon return to host Bigg Boss 12, perhaps the country’s most popular reality show. While the tentative date on which Bigg Boss 12 will begin airing is supposed to be September 16, a confirmation is still awaited. From who are the contestants to how much they are being paid to enter Bigg Boss house, there is a lot of buzz around the show.
It has now emerged that Bigg Boss 12 will launch in Goa instead of Lonavala and press invitations have been sent. “Meet you in Goa,” read the invites. The show is launched in Lonavala where the guests are introduced and directly enter the Bigg Boss house. So before we inch any closer to the new season, here is a list of all the things we have learned, heard or seen about the show.
1. Bigg Boss 12: The Host
Salman is returning as the cherished host of the show. The actor, who has been seen in all the promos so far, will introduce us to the new contestants and take their case every weekend like always. Salman currently hosts Dus Ka Dum on Sony and will straightaway take over Bigg Boss. He is also currently shooting for his movie Bharat. Looks like the next few months will indeed be quite hectic for the actor.
2. Bigg Boss 12: The Contestants
Like always, a big bunch of celebrities and common people will be welcomed into the house. A probable list of contestants includes Sasural Simar Ka actor Dipika Kakar and her husband Shoaib Ibrahim, Paltan star Gurmeet Choudhary and wife Debina Bonnerjee, MTV Splitsvilla season 7 winner Scarlett M Rose, internet star Pammi Aunty’s Ssumier S Pasricha and Sadda Haq’s Param Singh.
Actor Karanvir Bohra says he too was approached for the show. “Yes, I have been approached for the show. I think I have been the only actor who has been constantly approached since season 1. I feel privileged to be approached by them, but this time also I am not doing the show,” the actor told Indiaforums.com.
Milind Soman had dismissed rumours that he and wife Ankita Konwar will be part of celeb jodis who will enter the Bigg Boss 12 house.
3. Bigg Boss 12: The Location
If media reports are to be believed, the new season of Salman Khan’s hit reality show will be launched in Goa. A press invite to show’s launch details the location in Goa and not in Mumbai’s Lonavala where all the previous seasons have been shot. Without mentioning a specific location, the invitations simply ‘welcomes’ the guests to Goa. The show’s launch includes dance performances and contestant introductions. It is followed by each contestant entering the house one by one and meeting each other. However, it is not clear if the Bigg Boss house has been set up in Goa itself.
4. Bigg Boss 12: The Theme
The theme for Bigg Boss 12 is ‘vichitra jodis’. The jodis could be married couples, relatives, colleagues, or even neighbours. According to a DNA report, there will be 21 contestants in the new season. This time too, the jodis will be equally divided among celebs and commoners. Salman will divide the contestants into jodis on the day of the launch.
5. Bigg Boss 12: The Promos
To introduce the season, Colors has released a few quirky promos on Twitter and YouTube. In one, Salman is seen as a teacher, in another, a regular employee at any desi daftar ever.
