A Reason writer has just appeared on the public affairs show “To The Point” on KCRW Los Angeles, concerning EPA failures in Flint and elsewhere. Her proposition seemed to be that since regulatory capture can observed in a few cases, then all regulatory agencies should be abolished and public safety delivered unto the tender mercies of tort litigation. The next shoe to drop, of course, would be tort “reform”.
Felt a bit miffed that Reason got on the air at all, false-equivalency-wise.
Everybody should just stop and read “The Octopus” by Frank Norris.
