The M4 Sherman was the most widely used medium tank by the U.S.A. and the western allies in World War 2.

It proved to be reliable, relatively cheap to produce, and therefore available in large numbers.

Thousands were sent to the British Commonwealth and the Soviet Union.

Paraguay retired 3 Shermans from REP (presidential escort regiment) in 2018, marking the end of Sherman tank use by any country in world.
