Because I grew up surrounded by nature, I sometimes feel isolated in this urban city environment. This photo is my favorite from today because it captures a hidden piece of nature at Marquette.
The statue of Father Marquette acts as a time capsuel for future generations that will continue to walk past on their way to class. — I took 60 seconds to sit in a moment and notice my surroundings, without letting anything distract me. When I snapped back in, this is what I saw. — People say they're harmless, but that will never stop me from shrieking at the sight of a bee.
Although I spent time in Straz nearly everyday my freshman year, I never really looked up from my computer to notice all the light above me.
The Joan of Arc Chapel is one of the oldest things at Marquette, however, it’s timeless architecture remains just as beautiful as the brand new buildings on campus— I can honestly say I’ve never seem this sculpture next to Coughlin Hall. I can’t say I’m upset about it.
Home sweet McCormick home — Before I’d even had a chance to glance at the scavenger hunt sheet, a classmate of mine asked if she could take my photo. Out of convenience, I took hers too. I’m glad I did, because now she is another familiar face on campus.
The first college class I ever went to was in Marquette Hall. On that day, I knew Marquette was home, and its only been uphill since.

Reflection Questions

What did you struggle with today?

Most of my photos from today have a very similar style to them, making it difficult for any of them to really stand out. I mostly took photos of large views or buildings, with similar lighting and framing techniques. I struggled to be creative in the scavenger hunt, which also made it difficult to write captions for my photos in the blog post.

How did you make progress?

It is clear that as I moved down the checklist, I took better and better photos. Some of the first photos I took were frankly boring, but as I continued to practice I was able to remember things we learned last week and apply them to my photos.
