This week we were supposed to choose a specific direction from the insights that we got by doing the card sorting exercise. I decided to take companionship as my track and make a match-making app concept, called ToiMoi. It aims to bring together people seeking for a serious relationship based on mutual interests and compatibility. Prospect matches become available only after the interests match so that people match only with people who have similar views and opinions

The dataset for this app consisted of majorly two data points — people and media content. The rest of the data points were the elements of the application:

  • User credentials
  • Images
  • Videos
  • News
  • Chat
  • Potential candidates
  • Social media integration
  • Mutual friends
  • Compatibility level
  • Profile
  • Location preferences
  • Match preferences

I kept my first take at the Information Architecture in front of 3 candidates and asked them for feedback.

Initial Information Architecture
Changes made based on feedback
Final Information Architecture

Finally, based on the information architecture I made a few wireframes for different aspects of an application.
