I implemented the bowling pin scoring Kata in Java in the morning which was helpful for getting my head around Java bit more, especially as I was using the presentation on ButUncleBob to follow along. I finally understand why I’ve never understood the scoring in bowling — scoring spares and strikes depends on your following scores!

Went out for lunch with my mentors Daniel and Mollie and then headed back to the office to implement merge sort in Java! I realised I have written merge sort before in Python at some point and I was proud of myself for managing to implement it in Java without too much trouble!

In the afternoon I also started reading the book Software Craftsmanship which was really interesting, and I got in the 8th light Slack! Joined quite a few channels. I’m most excited about @ktog and @talks!
