Today was my first day as a Resident Apprentice at 8th light! The languages I’m going to be learning during my Apprenticeship are Java, Ruby, and ClojureScript.

I’m starting with Java, so first thing was setting up IntelliJ and having a go at the Java Koans to start getting into Java mode.

After lunch in the afternoon, Daniel, Mollie and I created my ‘Path to Mastery’ laying out my plan for the six months of my apprenticeship — it’s very exciting, although it seems quite daunting from this point!

I’m looking at 9 solid weeks of Java! Scheduled my tasks for the week and then I spent the afternoon getting started implementing the bowling game Kata in Java (following a guide).
