A Mother’s Gut is Never Wrong
A lesson I learned the really hard way
A mother’s gut is never wrong. I learned this lesson the hard way this year. Or maybe I should say, “re-learned” because I already knew it, I just didn’t always trust it, didn’t always apply what I “knew.” So, I learned it again, the really hard way.
As a mother, who always has your child’s best interest in mind, any time something bothers you, any time something doesn’t quite “feel” right, you should probably delve deeper into that feeling.
Never overlook it. Never ignore it.
You have it for a reason. Pay attention to it. Don’t just “let it go.” Don’t let someone talk you out of it. It just may be the thing that saves you a LOT of heartache.
I know it would’ve saved me from the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I should’ve listened to that feeling. I should’ve gone with my gut. Even though we gained much when I ignored my gut, the cost was far higher and nowhere worth the gain.
Thankfully, we can still overcome the adversity, but it won’t be easy. A long tough road lies ahead.
I hope you never experience learning this lesson the hard, painful way. Listen to your gut.
