Yes, Twitter has problems as a technology-based social interaction platform, but I do not think they are the cause of the “abuse” you discuss. Our culture is the cause. Talking without listening. Interacting without collaboration. Relationships without commitment. We need to elevate open standards of purpose, principles/values, and relationship capital rewards. For a professional or business entity, it is about measuring both the quality of social relationships and results not one over the other. How we connect, collaborate, engender trust, deepen loyalties, keep promises, and earn relationship capital is the only long-term sustainable approach to significance for people, products, and organizations.
