(An account based on real epidemic events from the 2019 novel. A light, relevant reading in these troubled times.)

It is a sad day for London as the first victim of this deadly sickness has now succumbed to the disease. A 33 year old male passed away today at the White Chapel Hospital. An otherwise healthy male, he had been identified as one of the first cases of this killer sickness that has gripped London in the last six days. Our sources were told that about 20 minutes before dying, this patient’s heart rate started falling suddenly. Over the course of next few minutes, his heart rate gradually fell to zero brought on by an onset of cardio-respiratory arrest. Doctors and scientists are confounded by this disease and have been unable to find any cure that can stop the onslaught of this deadly disease.

After the death of the first patient at the White Chapel hospital, it is now understood that this disease kills within six days.

Scientists across the world are stunned by this virus that seems to respond to no anti- virals. We have renowned scientist, Dr. Whitmore speaking to us from the National Health Service (NHS) in London.

“Dr. Whitmore, thank you so much for joining us today,” said the male radio host welcoming Dr. Whitmore.
