Our story began 3.5 years ago when the idea for Night Eye has been born. One year later, the dark mode extension went life and ever since has been recognized as a unique browser extension. Not only it enables smooth dark mode on nearly any website, but it has been regularly updated every two weeks and we continue offering support to everyone (even those with free forever accounts). Night Eye has become a staple browser extension for many developers around the world by helping them protect their eyes and be more productive. As the popularity grew among the dev community, great feedback and ideas started flowing towards us.
Our team sat down and decided to help fellow devs around the world in two new ways.
Dark CSS theme generator
A month ago we presented our Dark CSS theme generator. It is a service (completely free for now) that aims to save the web devs time and effort to develop a dark theme for their websites or their clients’ pages. The service got a lot of positive feedback and it has been used over 3000 times. Both small personal blogs and even some popular websites found value in the tool and took advantage of it.

View Page source dark mode
Today we continue our “dark” crusade with the newest, hopefully useful, tool that enables dark mode for the View Page Source. Not only that, but it also shows you how the browser has rendered a page’s original HTML into a functioning DOM, including modifications made by JavaScript. Night Viewer allows you to modify the font size of the View Page Source by increasing or decreasing it to make it more readable.
The extension is completely free and is available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and other chromium-based browsers.
